THE West Country’s premier 17-piece big band will be making a welcome return to the Princess Theatre in Burnham-on-Sea with another glorious programme of swing classics from the Glenn Miller era and beyond.

The stunning performance will be taking place on Friday, December 2 on 7.30pm.

Since its inception in 1983, by the late Alan (A.J.) Hempstead, the band continues to sustain a high reputation, blending great ensemble work with exciting jazz solos.

The band plays a wide range of music, from the 1930s through to more contemporary arrangements, but, of course, with the emphasis on classic tunes made famous by the likes of Glenn Miller and Count Basie.

With Christmas just around the corner, the packed two-set programme is sprinkled with familiar festive songs and arrangements guaranteed to set the feet tapping.

The band’s regular featured vocalist is the wonderful Paula Mitchell.

And a brand new feature to this concert will be a tribute to the great Ella Fitzgerald from Paula who is a stunning vocalist.

For those who are ‘In the Mood’ for a dance or a jive, don’t be shy.

This is an unmissable evening of top quality musical entertainment.
