AFTER the success of the rainbow race last year Burnham-on-Sea RNLI volunteers are bringing it back to the town for a second year.

More than 300 people took part in last years race and got covered in paint as they ran along the beach to raise money for Burnham lifeboat station.

Lesley Hart, organiser of the event said: "It's a great event getting the local community together and having a bit of fun whilst raising money for their own local lifeboat station.

"We are looking for sponsors for the paint points, especially local companies."

Organisers say volunteers hope to make this year's race bigger than ever and aim to throw more paint than last year.

Each entrant will get a t-shirt, a medal and their own bag of paint for the start line which will be included in the price of the entrance fee.

The event is on May 28 at 2pm on Burnham beach.

Tickets cost £12 per adult, £6 per child and £30 for a family of four and there are 600 places available for the event.
