CHILDREN were able to find out more about the world of wildlife during a masterclass event at a Somerset rescue centre.
Secret World Wildlife Rescue, in East Huntspill, hosted a Rescue Ranger masterclass to help children learn how to help injured animals.
The children were given a tour of the Secret World site and learnt how animals are rescued as part of Secret World’s national campaign to rescue, rehabilitate and release animals back into the wild.
Kids had the chance to catch a cuddly toy badger using a variety of techniques including restraint poles, nets, blankets, towels and cages and carry out a full assessment on the badger before trying to do the same on a live rabbit.
At the end of the day, the children watched some footage of real releases Secret World have achieved in the last few years and got to release the cuddly toy badger back into the wild.
