A BURNHAM-on-Sea charity shop is looking for volunteers to join their store.

Weston Hospicecare, a charity that provides care to people affected by lifelimiting illnesses said volunteers are 'essential' to make sure the shops raise funds to support the hospice's work.

The hospice relies on the support of the local community to both donate and shop with their charity shops.

Sue Pickens, manager of the Burnham-on-Sea store said: "We have both floor, customer-facing work and behind-the-scenes sorting and processing work.

"We will train you to do the activities and give you the support you need to be confident in carrying them out."

The care provider said they have a range of volunteering roles available including till work, re-stocking shelves, working on window displays, merchandising, sorting donations and preparing donations for sale.

The spokesman added: "Volunteers are essential to making sure the hospice’s charity shops can raise enough funds to help support the hospice’s work, and at the moment, the hospice’s Burnham-on-Sea shop needs more volunteers to help them in the shops."
