BURNHAM-on-Sea RNLI were called to help in the search for a missing swimmer.
The swimmer had been seen entering the water on Brean beach at around 4am on (today) August 2 but when the swimmers clothes were still in a pile on the beach at 7am, Milford Haven Coastguard were contacted and they instigated a search for the suspected casualty.
Nick Edrich, helmsman for Burnham RNLI said: "We were tasked to search the beach from the seawards side, from Burnham to Brean Down, whilst Burnham and Weston coastguards liaised to locate the suspected casualty on the beach."
Burnham lifeboat crews were stood down at approximately 7.50 am after the gentleman had been found, safe and well.
Both lifeboats were returned to the station for wash down and prepping by the shore and boats crew.
