A WOMAN has suffered smoke inhalation after a barn fire at a farm in Burnham-on-Sea broke out last night.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue crews were called to the farm on Brean Down Road around 6.30pm last night (August 4).
Engines from Burnham, Cheddar and Bridgwater attended the scene.
On arrival the crews confirmed that this was a barn measuring 100m x 50m and was well alight. They got to work with a hose reel jet and a main jet fighting the fire and protecting surrounding buildings.

The officer in charge then requested the attendance of a further 3 fire engines to make the count up to 6. These were sent from Nether Stowey, Glastonbury and Wells. An incident command unit was also sent from Wiveliscombe.
An ambulance was requested to attend to check over a female who had suffered smoke inhalation.
Crews worked through the night to dampen down the ashes.
