MEET Ruby, a German shepherd who falls in love with everyone she meets.

But despite her loving nature, the nine-year-old is looking for a forever home where she can spend her retirement.

Ruby lives at the RSPCA in Brent Knoll and staff are desperately keen to find her the perfect home.

The caring canine first came to centre in February when she was underweight and suffering from a terrible skin condition.

After months of treatment and lots of tender loving care from the team she has now recovered and is ready to find her forever home.

Andy Cook, training and behaviour advisor at RSPCA Brent Knoll, said: “Beautiful Ruby has been through a transformation in the time she has been with us.

“She is a special girl with specific needs, therefore we are looking for a home which can cater to her individual requirements.

“Ruby is such a sweet dog and is a favourite among staff and volunteers.

“On top of that, she adores being around people and dances around wagging her tail with joy.

“All she wants is a home with people who love her and where she can curl up next to someone.”

Staff at the centre said the ideal place for Ruby would be with owners who have experience with dogs in a home, where she will be the only dog without young children.

Andy added: “Ruby does not like other dogs so we are looking for a home that can accept her for who she is and make efforts to keep her happy and away from other dogs.

“Ruby is a vintage lady with a medical status to match.

“With this in mind we would consider her living with children of secondary school age or an adult-only home.

“She is a lovely friendly girl who adores human contact and at times is full of beans and excitement but physically will have her limitations because of her medical status.”
