HAVE you ever received an unusual call about your council tax?

Sedgemoor District Council is warning residents not to be taken in by a company who claim they can help them lower their council tax banding.

A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council said: “Residents have told us that All Claims Solutions – telephone number 0333 0062254 – have called them and is charging a £150 up-front fee via taking the resident’s bank account and card details in return for lowering their council tax band.

“This is not a phone call from Sedgemoor District Council despite their phone number being very similar to that of the council’s.

“Council Tax bands are set by the Valuation Office Agency and can only be changed under certain conditions.”

People struggling to pay Council Tax bills and need help, can speak with a member of the Council Tax Team on 0300 303 7801. People who have given personal details should call the police on 101 and report the matter as an identity theft scam.
