A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after he suffered 'traumatic injuries' following a crash involving a mobility scooter and a 4X4.
Emergency services were called to Adam Street, Burnham on Sea, at around 11.50am this morning following reports of a crash.
Police closed Adam Street and directed traffic while ambulance crews treated the man.
The man operating the mobility scooter suffered a head injury and was airlifted to Southmeads Hospital for treatment.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service, said he suffered 'traumatic injuries' in the incident.
"SWASFT were called at 11.43am today (March 8) to a reported road traffic collision, involving a mobility scooter," the spokesman said.
"The male patient was treated at the scene and taken onto Southmead hospital for further treatment."
