THE M5 near Burnham-on-Sea has re-opened after police ordered its closure earlier this morning (Sunday).
Traffic was diverted from a stretch of the motorway between junctions 23 and 24 due to a "concern for welfare".
Diversions were in place for a period.
But the road was re-opened at around 6.30am.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Thank you for your patience and understanding during the closure."
