HAVE you ever wanted to part of the RNLI?
BURNHAM-on-Sea RNLI is on the search for volunteers to assist in rescues across Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean who can work during the day and live or work close to the station.
The RNLI will provide volunteers with on the job training and say volunteering for the third emergency service can help you get opportunities for your future career.
A spokesman for Burnham RNLI, said: "Our crews respond at a moment's notice when their pagers go off.
"They give up their time and comfort to save lives at sea and are regularly called away from their families, their beds and their work, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
"As well as going out on rescues, crew members also commit to regular training afloat and onshore, and additional specialist training."
The crew trains on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings each week and is mainly staffed by volunteers.
Ian Brown from Burnham-on-Sea RNLI, said; "If you're interested why not pop along to the station on a Wednesday evening where you can see the boats, meet some of the crew and have an informal chat about the volunteering roles available."
For more information pop into the lifeboat station to the rear of B&M on Pier Street.
