Salon staff fundraising inspired by colleague's heartwarming tale

STAFF from a Burnham hair salon enjoyed a belated surprise visitor after raising funds for the neo-natal unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

Workers at N-Hance Hair and Beauty studio on the High Street handed over a bumper cheque of £200 for the ward with a little help from Santa Clause.

They decided to do something to raise the money after a diabetic colleague Clare French was taken to hospital 28 weeks into her pregnancy suffering from preeclampsia.

Ten days later Clare gave birth to her daughter Lilly Rose, and thanks to the dedicated staff at the hospital both mother and baby made it home in time for Christmas.

A raffle and auction held at the Lakeside Holiday Park in Burnham saw the money raised as a way of saying thanks to all the staff at Musgrove.
