the 75th West Huntspill Flower Show had more than 750 entries.

The Rev Tonia Nixon opened the show, which featured Burnham and Highbridge Town Band and a visit by Burnham and Highbridge town crier Alastair Murray.

Show secretary Jane Moreton thanked everyone who contributed to the show’s success.

She said: “We had an excellent show, and while the weather was very blustery, it was less wet than we were expecting.

“There were over 750 entries across the classes from over 100 exhibitors. The judges commented that classes were difficult to judge, as the standards were high, and there were multiple entries.”

The flower show committee, with Colin Parish and Bridget O’Neill instrumental, put together an exhibition of the show society through the ages.

Members can see it at the next committee meeting on Friday, September 20.
