A PENSIONER suffered a broken leg in a collision with a car in Highbridge this morning (Wednesday 6).

The incident happened in Pepperall Road, at the junction with Burnham Road, at 6.45am.

The 69-year-old pedestrian was taken to Weston General Hospital for treatment after the incident but the car failed to stop at the scene and drove off in the direction of Frank Foley Park Way.

PC Katy Drabble said: "We are looking to speak to the driver of a Peugeot 407 Estate in connection with this inquiry. If anyone saw this collision or has information about the whereabouts of the car, please call us as soon as possible."
