PUPILS at Weare Academy First School enjoyed a thrilling day out at the pantomime.

The children worked hard to raise funds for their outing to see ‘Peter Pan’ at Weston Playhouse by taking part in a set of lively playground games.

The Friends of Weare Parent Teacher Association and the educational trust also made contributions to the funding of this traditional festive experience. Head teacher Denise Mawdsley said: “The children were thrilled to see the show.

“Both pupils and staff were very proud of the pupils’ performance in their own Christmas play ‘Magical Jigsaw’ and everyone was very excited to end an excellent week of performance by watching Peter Pan.”

A PTA spokesperson said: “This is the third occasion that the PTA has supported this activity and the children get so much from live theatre.”
