A HORSE was rescued by fire crews after getting stuck in a water-filled ditch in Rooksbridge.
A fire engine from Cheddar and the specialist rescue team from Bridgwater were sent to the incident on Pill Road just after 8pm last night (July 27).
Upon arrival crews confirmed one 16 hand horse in water filled ditch approximately five ft deep.
A vet was in attendance to sedate the horse.
Crews set to working securing lines to the horse.
Crews rescued the horse using lifting strops and a local farmers telehandler.
The horse was left in the hands of its owner.
