THE man who died after being hit by a train at Highbridge railway station last week has been named as Simon John Heyes, of no fixed address.
An interim post mortem revealed that he died of traumatic injuries after colliding with a train on Thursday, October 22, at just after noon.
An inquest heard how he was struck by the train.
“He was seen to take a running jump from a platform at Highbridge rail station and a high speed train was passing through,” the coroner said.
“He was struck by the train.”
The inquest has now been adjourned for three months.
