THIS year’s Christmas lights in Highbridge will be switched on officially by the Mayor of Burnham and Highbridge on Saturday, November 28, at 5pm by the Christmas tree on the town green in Market Street.
From 4.30pm onwards there will be carols round the tree with the children from Churchfield School’s choir, and the Community Hall will be open, where teas and coffees will be available.
Mike Murphy, Chairman of the Highbridge Chamber of Trade and Commerce, which organises the Christmas lighting in Highbridge, said: “We are grateful for the support of the Town Council for providing the tree, and for its grant support enabling us to provide the Christmas lighting through Market Street and Church Street.”
