ONE casualty involved a car crash in Highbridge last night had to be released by firefighters who cut the roof off the vehicle.
Two cars were involved in the crash which took place on Buttlake Road where the junction joins with Southwick Road at 8.52pm.
One car ended up in a water filled ditch with no people trapped, while the second was the on the verge with a casualty still inside.
Two fire engines from Burnham on Sea and a rescue tender from Glastonbury attended the scene.
Crews stabilised the vehicle on the verge, and made initial access to the trapped casualty and liaised with paramedics.
Fire crews removed the roof with the hydraulic cutting equipment and assisted with getting the casualtyto the ambulance.
The casualty was taken to be treated at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
