BRENT Knoll's bookworms flocked to the Parish Hall this weekend to enjoy a two-day book fair.

There were thousands of books to choose from and local authors Joy Kenward and Andy Cruickshank visited.

Brent Knoll has a thriving literature group and authors Joy and Andy attended both days and were available to chat about the creative process of writing novels, discuss their inspirations and sign copies of their books.

One of the organisers, John Page, said he was delighted at how well the day went.

"We were very successful, and managed to raise £650 which will go towards the mortgage on the Jubilee Room," Mr Page said.

"It is the first time we tried something on this scale and the feedback has been very positive. There were many generous people, and not just from Brent Knoll but the surrounding area, who donated good quality books.

The special Book Fair took place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20.
