BURNHAM and Highbridge dog walkers turned out in force for this year's annual Mutt Strutt in Apex Park.

The owners and their pooches gathered at the park for the 2.5 mile walk in order to raise money for RSPCA North Somerset branch, based at Brent Knoll.

Dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes took part in the event on Sunday morning.

Rita Hinton, the organiser from Brent Knoll RSPCA, said: "We had 36 walkers come along and raised £800, and it was a really successful event.

"It was lovely to see some of the dogs that have been adopted come to the walk. We keep in touch with people who have adopted dogs and it is nice to see them looking healthy and happy."

As well as raising money for charity, the event is designed to encourage healthy living by getting people to walk around the Highbridge park.
