RESCUE: A horse was rescued by fire crews after getting stuck in a ditch in Sloway Lane in West Huntspill
A HORSE had to be rescued by fire crews after getting stuck in a ditch in West Huntspill.
Crews from Burnham-on-Sea, the animal rescue team from Exmouth and a telehandler from Exeter were all sent to Sloway Lane at 2.59pm yesterday afternoon.
The horse was found stuck in a ditch up to its shoulders in water, and was successfully rescued unharmed using strops and lines.
A vet also attended to oversee the wellbeing of the animal.
