HIGHBRIDGE residents saw quite the spectacle this week as a water meter burst in the town causing water to flood into the street.
Bristol Water received numerous calls from worried residents as what they believed to be a water main burst from a property on the A38 opposite Jubilee Gardens.
Staff from the water company were sent out at 2.30pm on December 12 to the property to carry out repairs.
A spokesman from Bristol Water said: "We received numerous calls from residents that a water main had burst near Jubilee Gardens in Highbridge.
"When staff arrived at the property they later confirmed it was a water meter that had burst and proceeded to switch off the water to the property while repairs were carried out.
"Our staff later confirmed six properties were without water while repairs were carried out.
"The repairs have now been completed and the water meter at the property was replaced.
"The six properties affected now have water. "
