FIRE crews had to force their way into a house to tackle a fire in Highbridge.
Two engines from Burnham on Sea were sent to a property on Church Street at 3pm this afternoon (April 13) following reports of an alarm sounding and a smell of burning.
On arrival, crews confirmed there was smoke issuing from a property.
They forced their way into the property to make sure no one was still inside.
When it was confirmed the home was empty, they found a pan of oil alight on the kitchen hob.
The damage was confined to the pan and surrounding area of the hob. Crews made the property safe and carried out ventilation.
Duty of care was left with the occupier.
