FIREFIGHTERS were called out after a bonfire got out of hand on a farm near Highbridge.
Crews from Burnham and Highbridge attended the scene on Walrow Farm on Mark Road shortly before 9pm on Sunday night after receiving a call from a motorist who said they could sea large plumes smoke in the area.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Upon investigation the crews found this was a large bonfire that had become out of control.
"Given the size of the bonfire crews requested back up and a second fire engine from Burnham.
"Crews extinguished the fire using hose rell jets and drag forks and returned to the station just before 10pm."
