YEAR EIGHT students at a Highbridge school celebrated their graduation from the end of Key Stage Three at a special ceremony.

Pupils at King Alfred's School received certificates and enjoyed a day of delicious food, cooked by some of the school's budding chefs at a red carpet event, hosted at the school.

Science teacher Miss Charles delivered a speech at the event written by Melanie Bax, mother of Joe Bax, a former King Alfred's student who sadly died in 2015 and students Holly Sanders and Emma Orledge choreographed and performed a dance number at the event.

Mr Tipler, head of year for year eight selected Fiona William and Jacob Kemp as the pride of year eight winners for their 'amazing contribution to school life in and outside of lessons.'

David Herbert, assistant headteacher at King Alfred's School said: "Our students yet again proved to be the credit to parents/carers that we see every day.

"Congratulations to all our year 8 for their hard work and commitment."
