A HIGHBRIDGE bathroom pod manufacturer has announced it will be investing £5million to expand its production facilities.

Offsite Solutions, which based at the Isleport Business Park, said it is investing the money to meet the growing demand for its factory-built bathrooms.

The company says it will be the biggest expansion programme in its history.

James Stephens, managing director of Offsite Solutions, said, “Demand for our products has continued to grow year on year and we now have a really strong customer base in a wide spread of sectors.

“This three-phase expansion will allow us to increase manufacturing capacity for our expanding product portfolio.

“Moving onto a single site will further improve the efficiency of our production and fitting out operations to the benefit of our customers.

“There is definitely much greater understanding of the speed and quality benefits of off-site manufacturing.

“By moving bathroom construction into a controlled factory environment we can reduce work on site by up to 20 weeks on a major residential project, for example.

“Ourhighly skilled fit-outteams use factory production processes, which significantly improve the quality of finish of our bathroom products compared to site-based construction methods.”

The company says the first phase of the expansion has been completed and a new 45,000sqft production facility at Commerce Way in Highbridge has doubled the capacity for the company’s steel-framed bathroom pods.

Offsite Solutions says the new production facility has reduced transport between different sites and says it uses roof-mounted solar panels to generate around 25 per cent of the factory’s annual electricity demand.

The company, which offers a range of bathroom pods to suit different building types has confirmed that planning approval has been granted for a £1million facility to increase storage space at Offsite Solutions’ UK headquarters and production centre to accommodate up to 3,500 completed bathroom pods, before the units are delivered to sites across the country.

The final phase of the expansion will be the construction of a new, purpose-designed, state-ofthe-art factory costing £3million.

A spokesman ffor the firm added: “This £3million investment will bring all the company’s production operations on to a single site for even greater efficiency.

“It will increase capacity to over 150,000sqft, allowing the manufacture of up to 12,500 of its award-winning factory-built bathrooms per year to meet the growing demand in both new and established markets.”

Offsite Solutions has not yet announced a completion date for the work.
