CLOSURE: The Post Office branch in Highbridge is set to close following the resignation of the postmaster
HIGHBRIDGE Post Office is set to close temporarily after the postmaster has resigned.
A spokesman for the Post Office said: “The Postmaster for Highbridge has resigned. The closing date has not yet been finalised.
"There is likely to be a temporary closure of the branch and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this. Alternative branches in the area include Burnham-on-Sea and Brent Knoll. The vacancy will be advertised on our website www.runapostoffice.co.uk."
One Highbridge resident said it would be 'a major blow for the town'.
The Weekly News understands that four staff will be affected when the Church Street branch closes.
