HIGHBRIDGE residents will no longer be able to go to their local post office on a Saturday as the store's opening hours are set to be cut.
The post office on Church Street is currently open from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 2pm on Saturday's but today (February 1) the Post Office has confirmed the store's opening hours will be cut by 16 hours a week.
A spokesman for the Post Office, said: "We have been in discussion with the Postmaster and we have agreed to his request to reduce the opening hours of Highbridge Post Office.
"From February 12 the new hours will be Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
"The vacancy for Highbridge Post Office is currently advertised on our website www.runapostoffice.co.uk.
"We would welcome any applications from potential retail partners interested in running a Post Office in Highbridge visit the wesbite or phone 0845 601 6260.”
Burnham and Highbridge Town Council declined to comment.
