A MAN was cut free from a vehicle after getting trapped following an early-morning crash. 

Emergency services were called to Harp Road, between Brent Knoll and Mark, at around 4am this morning (February 4). 

Two fire engines from Burnham-on-Sea attended the scene alongside an ambulance. 

The man was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital for treatment. 

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 3:45am to Harp Road.

"We attended with two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance to a male trapped in his vehicle.

"He was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital for treatment. Police and fire were also on scene."

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "On arrival, crews confirmed one vehicle in ditch with the male driver trapped inside complaining back and neck pain.

"Crews initially stabilised the vehicle and used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle in preparation for extrication.

"The casualty was then removed from the vehicle on a long board and was left in the hands of the ambulance service, who was also in attendance."
