A DOG was rescued from a kitchen fire in Highbridge.
Fire engines from Burnham on Sea and Bridgwater attended the scene at West Avenue at around 10pm last night (February 7) after a neighbour reported hearing an alarm and seeing smoke.
On arrival, crew confirmed all persons were accounted for and a fire was located in the kitchen.
Firefighters gained entry to the property using breaking in tools and at work with breathing apparatus, hose reel and a thermal image camera to extinguish the fire.
The fire was extinguished and one dog has been evacuated from the premise.
The kitchen was smoke damaged and five per cent smoke damage was made to the remainder of the premise.
The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, positive pressure ventilation fan and breaking in tools.
