FUN and friendly music classes start on Tuesday for children aged up to three-years-old, and an accompanying adult.

Groups are being set up at St John’s Church in Cavendish Square, Park South, on Tuesday mornings from 10.15am to 10.45 am, and at Lawn Community Centre in Guildford Avenue, Lawn, on Tuesday afternoons from 1.45pm to 2.15pm.

Part of the Music With Mummy franchise, the structured weekly classes are designed to encourage many things, including developing children’s sense of pitch and rhythm, and also listening and social skills.

There will be old and new songs and rhymes, and the chance to play with a variety of simple percussion instruments. The emphasis is of course on having fun, making friends and learning to enjoy music along the way.

The first class is free, as a taster session, and after that each class costs £4. Each ‘term’ lasts for six weeks and has a different theme.

The classes will be led by Jill Ryan Browne, an ex-primary teacher, mother of three children, CRB checked and insured.

You can contact Jill on 07961 675211 or email her at musicwithmum@aol.
