SHOULD Prime Minister David Cameron take part in the televised election debates?

It’s a question that has been asked since the PM announced he would not take part unless broadcasters agreed for the Green Party to have a platform as well as UKIP’s Nigel Farage.

The PM has now announced that he will take part in one debate, despite there being three that have been planned.

We asked the people of Somerset whether they think the PM should participate.

BEN Randal said: “I don’t know. I think you can’t really trust anything at the moment because they say one thing but then they turn around and say something else. There’s still time for him to change his mind.”

PATRICIA Gale said: “I’ve been hoping someone would ask me about this. I think that because he’s the Prime Minister, he should be able to do what he believes to be right. He was elected by the people to stand up in what he thinks is right and if it’s not taking part in the debates then that’s fine. Nobody should make him do it.”
