Firefighters from Taunton, Bridgwater and Burnham have been drafted in ascrews from across Somerset battle a blaze at a row of thatched cottages.
The aerial ladder platform from Taunton and the the incident command unit from Wiveliscombe, has joined crews from Somerton, Street, Castle Cary, Glastonbury, Wincanton, and the water carrier from Yeovil, to a row of thatched cottages, two of which were involved in fire.

Crews arrived at Primrose Hill, Charlton Mackrell just after 1pm and confirmed the thatch well alight, and requested additional support from a further four appliances. Appliances from Sherborne, Bridgwater, Gillingham and Martock were mobilised.
This incident involved four cottages, three of which had thatch roofs. Crews got to work with two hose reel jets and one safety jet, which then increased to four hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus and one foam jet.
A second water carrier was requested and sent from Bridgwater.
Crews then requested a further 3 fire appliances, mobilised from Maiden Newton, Taunton and Shepton Mallet. Crews were then at work with four hose reels, two main jets, one foam jet and ladders creating fire breaks. Police were requested to attend. Crews removed two gas cylinders from the rear of the property.
At 4pm crews were stil at work with three foam jets, three safety jets and six breathing apparatus wearers.
The incident support unit was also requested from Yeovil, and the welfare unit from Burnham on Sea.
