SOMERSET residents may be asked for their views on everything from potholes to buses as part of a national survey.

Somerset County Council is one of 86 local authorities to sign up to the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction survey.

A questionnaire will be sent to a random selection of 3,300 people across the county to find out what they think about these important services.

Residents that receive a copy are urged to take part.

Cllr David Fothergill, Somerset County Council’s cabinet member for Highways and Transport, urged as many people as possible to take part in the survey and make their voices heard.

He said: “It’s vital that we have up to date information about what our residents think and this survey is organised nationally so allows us to compare with other authorities.

“If you do receive a survey through your door, please take a few minutes to fill it out.

“Your views could really make a difference when it comes to planning future highways and transport services.”

This is the largest collaboration between local authorities and offers the opportunity to compare results, share in best practice and identify further opportunities to work together in the future.
