DRIVERS are being warned that the M5 southbound will be closed overnight tonight (Monday, April 25) between junctions 19 and 20 for emergency repair work.

Highways England will close a seven-mile stretch of the motorway from 8pm tonight to 6am tomorrow for pothole repairs and resurfacing to be carried out between junction 19 (Portishead, Gordano) and junction 20 (Clevedon, Nailsea).

Light traffic will be directed off the junction 19 slip road and diverted to junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare) via the A369 and A370, while heavy traffic will be diverted off junction 18a and via the A4, A3029 and A370 to junction 21.
