Roy Stride of Scouting for Girls, said: “We’ve been on the road a lot over the last few months and are excited to be performing at a number of festivals during the summer including at Somerset Rocks.

"We really enjoy performing live shows, especially outdoors, and are look forward to entertaining our fans in Taunton in August.”

Les Kidger, director of LCC Live, said: “Scouting for Girls has had great success over the last decade and they are a welcome addition to the Somerset Rocks line-up. As the support act for Will Young, the band will start the evening’s entertainment in style, creating a festival-type feel.

“Ticket sales remain strong for Somerset Rocks. Whilst tickets to Status Quo are sold out, there is availability for tickets to Will Young and Jools Holland. However, having added Scouting for Girls as Will Young’s special guest, we expect demand for tickets to be high.”

Ann Lee, Chief Executive of St. Margaret’s Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the line-up of artists performing at Somerset Rocks. When we started off planning Somerset Rocks 2016, we had high aspirations, but never did we think we would be welcoming Status Quo, Jools Holland, Red Sky July and Will Young with support from Scouting for Girls, to Vivary Park.

“With three months to go until Somerset Rocks, there’s plenty to be done in ensuring this is a family friendly, fun weekend of live music. But, we can’t forget the main motivation for the event – helping to make each day count for our patients. So, thank you to those who are supporting Somerset Rocks and to those who haven’t already got tickets, you’d be best be quick!”
