THIS was Taunton at about 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday, June 15) - and we might get a little more of the same today.

The photo, taken from Blagdon Hill by Benjamin Dunford, shows the county town in the grips of a downpour - moments before a bolt of lightning struck.

Somerset can expect another day of sunny spells and heavy, locally thundery showers will then follow.

The showers will be less frequent than yesterday and it will feel pleasantly warm in the sunshine with temperatures up around 19 degrees celsius.

Showers will generally ease this evening, although the odd one may persist through the night. Otherwise it'll be mainly dry with some clear spells and local mist or fog patches.
