HUMAN remains have been found in the back garden of a property in Somerset.
Avon and Somerset Police made the announcement following enquiries in the St George's area of Yeovil last week.
It is believed that the remains could belong to a stillborn child.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Following police enquiries in the St George's area of Yeovil last week, we can confirm that remains have been located in the back garden of a property.
"These enquiries commenced following a disclosure that a stillborn child might be buried at this location.
"This is unconnected to the current tenant.
"Further forensic tests will now be carried out.
"A 29-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with this matter and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
"We would like to thank the local community for their patience and support last week.
"As our enquiries are continuing, we would ask the public not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding this incident.
"We are continuing to work closely with the family concerned and helping them through this difficult time."
