Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow has had a sneak preview at the book, and said she was impressed with the images.
She said: “The County Gazette’s book highlighting the beauties of Somerset is stunning.
“It showcases what a glorious county we live in.
“I was especially thrilled with the lovely images of my constituency Taunton Deane – the fine County Gazette photographers have really done it justice.”
County Gazette editor Paul Jones, who has overseen the collation of the book, said: “Putting this book together has been a hugely enjoyable challenge, writing, selecting and editing content which is so rich in subject matter.
“Though we have scoured every corner of the county to give readers a glimpse into Somerset for every single photograph, fact or observation, there are countless more out there we have been unable to feature.
“So keep searching yourselves and drop us a line with your photographs and your thoughts and who knows, there may be a volume two.
“For a picture is worth a thousand words – and there are truly thousands to be told about glorious Somerset.”
The book will be officially launched at the event at Waterstones this evening, with people welcome to come along. Copies will be on sale, providing the perfect present for those who love Somerset.
