THE BODY of missing man, Tony Leggatt has been found by two PSCO's after a nationwide search. 

Mr Leggatt, 84 was found dead in his caravan in Silton near Gillingham in Dorset at 11am today (May 10). 

Police in Sussex were concerned for the 84 year-old's safety after his family reported they had not seen or heard from him for a week since setting out on his solo caravan trip to the South West. 

A search operation was launched to find Mr Leggatt's car, a beige Renault Megane Scenic (HY03 ZKC) towing a caravan, after he was known to have been in Wiltshire on Wednesday, May 3, and Avon and Somerset on Thursday, May 4.

Sussex Police posted on their Facebook page at around 4pm today (May 10) confirming that Mr Leggatt's body had been found.

The post said: "We regret to report that missing Wivelsfield Green man Tony Leggatt, 84, was found dead in his caravan at Silton, near Gillingham in Dorset at 11am today.

"Thanks for a fantastic response to our appeal from Sussex, Dorset and Avon and Somerset and in particular to the two Dorset PCSOs who saw the appeal and took it upon themselves to check their local sites.

"There don't appear to be any suspicious circumstances and the matter will now be referred to the coroner."
