A MAJOR conference celebrating the achievements and the challenges faced by people caring for a loved one with mental illness takes place in Somerset on Wednesday, March 26.
The Somerset Mental Health Carers Conference is at Dillington House, near Ilminster, and is organised by Somerset Partnership NHS and Social Care Trust.
The daylong event is both a celebration of the achievements of local carers, but also an opportunity to review the progress which has been made over the last 12 months with improved support and information.
One of the event's speakers will be Mr Eddie Godfrey, a member of local mental health group Rethink.
Mr Godfrey will be describing the launch of the Poly Tunnel Project', an initiative in Wells which aims to give rehabilitative activity to people with long-term mental ill health by helping them to growing their own fruit and vegetables.
