PARENTS are being urged to take their children along to a "Wellie Waddle" next month in Berrow in aid of Weston Hospicecare.

Andy Doran, 46, from Nether Stowey, and his one-year-old daughter Olivia have signed up to walk half a mile in their wellies to raise much needed funds for the hospice.

Andy told the Weekly News: "As Olivia has just started walking we thought the "Wellie Waddle" would be a great opportunity for a fun day out as well as a chance to raise some money for a worthy cause."

The event takes place at Animal Farm Adventure Park in Berrow on May 21 at 10am. Entrants must be aged five and under and accompanied by an adult.

Sue Sweet, a fundraiser at Weston Hospicecare, said: "We are really pleased that Olivia and Andy have signed up for the Wellie Waddle.

"This is a new event in Weston Hospicecare's fundraising calendar and we are asking as many toddlers as possible to be involved.

"We are contacting pre-school nurseries, childminders, grandparents and parents so everyone can join in the fun."
