Weston and District League round up

IT was a bad week for our Weston and District League sides as all of them suffer defeat.

In the Knock Out Cup Preliminary Round, King Alfred Sports Centre lost 6-1 and in the Charity Cup Quarter Finals, Burnham United 'A' fell to a 5-2 loss against Yatton Athletic Reserves.

Burnham went 2-0 down after 25 minutes but pulled one back through Wayne Croucher after some quick feet in their penalty box before slotting home.

They then equalised on 44 minutes thanks to Rob Burns after great work by Wilkins and Bishop but lost two players to hamstring injuries.

In the second half, Yatton proved too strong and showed why they are top of the league.

In Division One league action, Berrow Reserves fell to a 3-1 defeat, Division Three side Wedmore also lost 3-1 while in Division Five, Burnham United 'B' were hit for ten scoring one in reply through Matt Dibble after good work from Dave Callaghan and Harry Wedgwood-Potts found the 16-year-old in space in the box.

In Division Six, Wedmore Reserves lost 2-1 to Westend Reserves.
