IN a classic game of two halves, Burnham held on to claim a good victory over Topsham.

These were two evenly matched sides whose style of play was very similar in a mix of physicality and skills.

After an initial push by Burnham early on, Topsham gained the initiative and took the lead.

The hosts came straight back and their forwards gained the upper hand, scoring three tries before half time.

After the break Topsham came out flying and put Burnham on the ropes.

But some good defending kept their opponents at bay and prevented them from getting the crucial try to claim victory.
