Shiplate Fishing Winter Series comes to an end

THE final of the Shiplate Winter Series began with the competitors having to break the ice in their swims as the hard frost had frozen the complex near Weston.

In what felt like arctic conditions, the match on the main lake was tense, as anglers battled it out to be series winner.

The actual match gave the following results;
1st John Hawkins (pictured) peg 1, 10lb
Joint 2nd Tom Light peg 4, 6lb 3oz and Julian Pinkett peg 5a, 6lb 3oz
Silvers went to Russ Peck peg 6, 6lb 10oz

The overall winner of the Winter Series:
1st Pete Bartlett,
2nd Steve Howell
3rd Julian Pinkett

Overall Silvers winner of the Winter Series:
1st Tom Light
2nd Russ Peck
3rd Julian Pinkett
