WITH weather improving steadily all week and fish beginning to feed again, what a surprise to be back to arctic winds and snowflakes at the end of the open match at Shiplate Farm.
The Open match was held on the Main Lake and silvers were the only fish to be hooked. With very close winning weights it was a tight match, but Steve Howell just pulled ahead with hooked pinkies at 13m on the pole.
First place went to Steve Howell on peg 1a as he caught 23lb 14oz, second place went to Paul Chapman on peg 4 with a haul of 20lb 8oz and silvers went to Tim Lewis on peg 6 who caught 20lb 3oz.
