HIGHBRIDGE made it a hat-trick of wins after a hard fought victory over Bridgwater Sports.

The home side dominated the early possession but found it difficult to create any clear cut chances against a well organised and disciplined defence marshalled by Craig Holley.

The centre back partnership of Tom Bailey and Sam Redstone, along with in form keeper Steve Bailey, were solid and dealt with the early barrage of crosses Bridgwater Sports fired in.

At half time the scores remained level at 0-0 and in an attempt to break the deadlock Bridgwater Sports made a change to their attacking formation.

Midway through the second half a long clearance from keeper Steve Bailey was flicked on by centre forward Mark Chapman into the path of an excellent run from Will Bailey, who calmly slotted past Sports keeper Kevin Hurd to put Highbridge 1- 0 up.

This inspired Sports who equalised from the penalty spot thanks to Steve Davis.

But Town remained resilient and a superb pinpoint cross from the effervescent Andy Chedzoy was met with a powerful header from Mark Chapman leaving the home keeper with no chance to put Highbridge 2 - 1 up and they held on in the remaining minutes to seal the three points.

Town Manager Jeff Bailey said: “I was very pleased with the performance and I put the win down to a disciplined, hard working team effort with every player making an important contribution.”
