Uxella Sunday Football League round up
HIGHBURN’S 2-0 win at the weekend was just one of a handful of Uxella Bridgwater & District Sunday League games to survive the weather.
They beat New Foresters at home thanks to goals from Rob Driver and Tony Oliva who helped snatch the win.
Meanwhile, Red Tile top the Division 1 pile following a 5-0 win at Pawlett Rebels.
Carl Tucker’s brace, along with goals from Adam Prescott, Jake Crocker and Luke Morgan sealed the three points.
In Division 2, Ramblers are staking their claim for promotion as they beat Huntspill BPH 6-0.
Phil Court and Ed Habberfield both netted twice to get their team off to a flying start and with further goals from Joe Cresswell and Sam Granville, the match finished comfortably for the home side.
Meanwhile, Huntspill won only their second league game of the season against Willow Green.
Ashley Lockyer bagged a brace and Kev Watts and Andy Kitch also netted to seal the 4-2 win. Pawel Duda and a Paul Quorroll penalty made up the scoring for the visitors.
All other games were postponed.
