WEDMORE'S match was cancelled at the weekend after heavy rain ruined any hopes of a win during their clash with North Perrott 2nds.

The Sedgemoor side were 75-5 when the deluge hit and made the pitch unfit for the rest of the day leaving umpires no choice but to abandon the fixture.

Meanwhile, in Division 4, Simon Cattermole (39) and G Lloyd (34) and Nick Ollerenshaw (30) all made solid contributions in Mark's total of 157-6.

But Frome were indebted to S Edwards who hit an unbeaten 51 down the order to dash Mark's hopes of a win despite miserly figures of 2-15 from 12 overs from Cattermole.

In Division 8N, it was a bad day at the office for Wedmore 2nds as they suffered a 230-run defeat to Evercreech.

The home side posted a daunting 320-8 thanks to 166 from P Belcher as T Ingle (2-56), R Hale (2-48), J Fowle (2-68) and R Parker (3-13) did their best to restrict.

But Wedmore's batsmen never looked like knocking the runs off following the loss of early wickets and only J Gamlin (22) and A Patch (18) hit double figures with the team being routed for 90.

In Division 9NW, East Huntspill 2nds were given a walkover at home to Mark 2nds meaning they notch up 35 points while Mark are deducted 35.

Wedmore 'A' were deducted 35 points after awarding Banwell and Churchill 2nds a walkover.

Huntspill and District 2nds had to cancel their match at home to Weston 4ths following a rain-affected match.
